The ISMET Board is pleased to announce a call for proposals to organize the ISMET10 meeting in 2028. This is the 3-yearly world meeting on microbial electrochemistry and technology.

The call for proposals is open for the whole ISMET community. We are requesting a ~2-page proposal with information on where the meeting will be held, the venue, and the expected cost for registration, which we would like to keep relatively low (<$450). After receiving proposals, we will pre-screen for eligibility and advise the ISMET board.

Call Closes: 15 th of May 2026.

Sustainability is in our genes

We compensate the CO₂ from travel to our conferences

At ISMET, we are serious about sustainability.
Therefore, we compensate part of the CO₂ emissions caused by conference attendance by planting a forest in Alcalá de Henares, Spain.

The project started in 2014 at the EU-ISMET meeting where the first 70 trees were planted. Today, over 150 trees are planted and the ISMET forest is growing …
